Uncle Wiggily, a rabbit gentleman, lives in a hollow stump bungalow with Nurse Jane Fuzzy Wuzzy, a muskrat lady housekeeper. One day, Baby Bunty, a lively little rabbit girl, calls out to Uncle Wiggily, hoping he will take her for a ride in her red carriage. Uncle Wiggily, however, plans to visit Grandfather Goosey Gander and declines, promising to play with her another time. Bunty decides to go into the woods to pick wildflowers. Uncle Wiggily visits Grandfather Goosey Gander, and they reminisce about their younger days. Goosey suggests that Uncle Wiggily needs someone to keep him lively, to which Uncle Wiggily mentions Baby Bunty. They decide to return to Uncle Wiggily's bungalow to see Bunty. On their way, they see Bunty's carriage rolling down a hill. Uncle Wiggily, fearing Bunty is inside, hops after it, despite Goosey's doubts about his ability to catch it due to his age and stiffness. Uncle Wiggily manages to stop the carriage, only to find it filled with wildflowers instead of Bunty. Bunty, safe at the top of the hill with Goosey, explains that the carriage slipped away while she was picking flowers. Uncle Wiggily's chase, though unnecessary, proves he is still spry, much to the amusement of Bunty and Goosey.
