Edmond Hamilton (1904–1977) was an American writer known for his work in science fiction. He was a prolific author, contributing to pulp magazines in the early 20th century. Hamilton is credited with helping to define the space opera subgenre. He wrote for series like "Captain Future" and contributed to DC Comics, notably on "Superman" and "Batman." He was married to fellow science fiction writer Leigh Brackett.
