Thomas à Kempis

Thomas à Kempis was a German-Dutch canon regular, priest, and writer, born in 1380 in Kempen, Germany. He is best known for authoring "The Imitation of Christ," a Christian devotional book. He spent most of his life in the Netherlands, where he joined the Augustinian Canons at the monastery of Mount St. Agnes near Zwolle. He died in 1471.
