Clark Ashton Smith (1893–1961) was an American writer, poet, and artist associated with the Weird Tales circle, which included H.P. Lovecraft and Robert E. Howard. Known for his rich, ornate prose and imaginative worlds, Smith's work spans fantasy, horror, and science fiction. He contributed significantly to the Cthulhu Mythos and created his own mythic cycles, such as Hyperborea, Zothique, and Averoigne. Smith was also a skilled sculptor and painter, and his poetry was highly regarded for its vivid imagery and cosmic themes.
