R. Austin Freeman

R. Austin Freeman (1862-1943) was an English author and physician. He is best known for his detective stories featuring the medico-legal forensic investigator Dr. Thorndyke. Freeman wrote over 50 novels and short stories, many of which were adapted for film and television. He was a pioneer in the field of forensic science and his stories often featured detailed descriptions of scientific methods and experiments. He was also a prolific writer of non-fiction works on medical and legal topics.
