W. Clark Russell
W. Clark Russell (1844–1911) was an English novelist and journalist. He was born in London and educated at King's College School. He began his career as a journalist, writing for the London Standard and other newspapers. He later became a novelist, writing mainly sea stories and adventure novels. His works include The Wreck of the Grosvenor (1877), The Frozen Pirate (1887), and The Phantom Death (1890). He also wrote several plays and biographies. He died in 1911 in London.
